As all of us are aware, eating is good for us and it is also a way of life.  Some may eat to live and majority live to eat.  'Surviving is important, but thriving is elegant,' wrote the American author Maya Angelou.  This is a great way to describe how to live your life.  On many occasions a lot of people are worried about cholesterol, fat, sugar and other dietary contents.  Nothing affects our body, skin and hair as fundamentally as the food we eat.  The way our food is cooked is equally important.  We should stick to low-fat cooking methods, such as grilling, pan-frying, baking, steaming, or boiling.  The less oil the better.  Food is our fuel.  You will not put the wrong sort of petrol in your car and it should be exactly the same with our body.  Everyone is different and has different needs.  If we get what suits us personally, we will feel healthier, more energetic and vibrant.

 

We have to be passionate about good nutrition.  With greater self-knowledge and awareness, better skincare, regular exercise and a balanced diet, there is no reason why men and women should not remain healthy and look stunning even when they are well past middle age.  Looking young, radiant and healthy is about attitude and lifestyle.  One of the ways to achieve this is to make fundamental changes to the way we eat - for life.  Our diet has a direct impact on how we look and feel. 

 

Exercising on a regular basis is part of a healthy lifestyle.  To stay fit, we need regular physical activity through exercise and sports.  Staying fit helps lower our risk of developing serious illnesses such as heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke later in life.  Regular exercise can also help us to eat better, manage stress more effectively, boost energy levels and sleep better.  Exercise has once again been found to be a beneficial method of slowing down a frequent consequence of aging-osteoporosis.  Osteoporosis, a disease characterized by low bone mass and a breakdown of bone tissue, leading to bone fragility.  This bone fragility ultimately leads to a substantially increased risk of fractures.  Exercise for your bones' sake.  Physical activity can slow down osteoporosis.   Health is a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being.  A healthy lifestyle is clearly a balance between righteousness and pleasure.

 

Body weight alone is an ineffective good health or fitness indicator as it does not distinguish between muscle and body fat.  Overweight and obesity are generally health hazards and have been associated with some of the chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, arthritis and poor health status.  However, overweight may not necessary due to increase in body fat.  For example, professional athletes may be overweight but yet have with very little body fat.  Therefore it is important to measure your body fat as it gives you a better measure of fitness than your body weight alone.  In addition, it will also give you a better idea of your health risk.

 

Start thinking about fitness as fun.  If it is something you truly enjoy, you will surely find the time to include it in your daily schedule - and you will think of more creative ways of doing it!  Think of fun reasons and ways to exercise and stay fit.

 

Of course, fitness is not just all about exercise.  Eating right is important, too.  And who says healthy food has to be boring.  Get some recipes on how to make those healthy foods appetizing and find out what to eat for all-day energy.  Make time for health.  Once you see fitness as a priority in your life, it will be easy to fit it into your daily schedule - just like you would make time for your hobbies, your job and your loved ones.
