Sour Cabbage Salad Recipe

(Taiwanese Recipe)

Ingredients: Serves 2-4


1 red chili, sliced lengthwise thinly

2 cups cold water


4 tablespoons white vinegar

3 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt


Wash the cabbage and tear leaves into slices by hand.  Stir well all seasonings in a big container for preparation.  Scald the leaves in boiling water.  Drain and soak in cold water immediately.  Let it cool.  Drain off the water.  Put the leaves in the container and mix with seasonings.  Preserve for at least 2 hours.  The flavor will be strong enough.
