Stewed Pork Recipe

Ingredients:

100 g brown sugar

500 ml water

60 ml soy sauce

200 ml vinegar

1 kg pork shoulder, cut into large chunks

3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

1 bay leaf

 

Method:

Combine sugar, water, soy sauce, and vinegar in a bowl and stir well.  Transfer to a casserole and add the pork chunks, garlic and bay leaf.  Bring to the boil, then lower heat to simmer.  Simmer over low heat until pork is tender, about 35 minutes.  Discard bay leaf and serve meat with rice.  Spoon over the sauce.
